Politics by Faith with Mike Slater
An enlightening, insightful, reassuring, and 100% unique podcast
A few months ago while listening to my daily dose of Bill O’Reilly, a sit-in host began appearing on the program. His name was Mike Slater and he was filling in for Bill when O’Reilly was out and not able to host. Quickly, Mike became the regular voice by taking on the news segment that is featured on Bill’s daily podcast for non-premium members.
At first, I was not vibing with Mike’s tone and style, probably because I was so accustomed to O’Reilly. But after a little while he grew on me and I decided to check out his podcast - Politics by Faith with Mike Slater. As it turns out, I found myself not just listening to Mike every day, but craving his daily podcast message. The rest, as they say, is history.
Slater’s podcast comes in two varieties - a daily “Morning Motivational” which is normally 5-10 minutes in length and focused on a single Biblical idea or message; and then once or twice a week Mike does a more comprehensive episode that goes deeper into a subject and often includes a guest interview.
“Do not grow weary or lose heart” is the message from the Book of Hebrews in the Bible that lies at the core of Politics by Faith. As Mike explains, “a little perspective can bring us peace, make us stronger, not grow weary, not lose heart, and go on to fight another day.”
Here is Mike on The First TV introducing it for the first time.
Obviously, I recommend checking out Mike’s podcast. He offers Biblical perspective and hope with passion and gratitude. HIs podcast has changed my life, my faith, and my relationship with our Creator. So much in fact, that it has helped inspire me to alter my vision for The Liberty Wave.
Religion, Faith, and the Wave
A little backstory…last Fall when Kallista wrote Who Can Dismantle the FBI and Democrats’ Agenda for Totalitarianism, the author wanted to include a sentence that suggested prayer as a way to “take action” against the evil that is invading our nation and the world. But I was opposed to this because I did not want to incorporate any religious tones into the publication, on the basis that it might deter secular progressives and atheists from wanting to read or subscribe.
Kallista and I talked about it at length and ultimately agreed to keep the suggestion in there, but I was adamant that The Liberty Wave was not intended to be a pedestal for religion. Well, here we are six months later and all I can say is that I have had a change in heart. In fact, I know now that God used that moment as a pivot point for a lot of change in my life.
The original vision for The Liberty Wave was to bring news and developments to the forefront that are impacting our freedoms and liberties as US citizens. We also wanted to be a media resource and destination “by and for We the People,” one where people could have a voice to express their concerns and interests without having to launch their own blog or podcast. This is not changing. We will continue doing that.
What is going to change is our tone about religion, specifically, the importance of religion for helping bring about change - the right kind of change, God-fearing change. Change that begins with you and your spiritual needs because ultimately that is how God resurrects societies. He works with us from the inside out to force the change that is necessary for his people.
One thing I learned long ago from reading the book Kingdoms in Conflict by Chuck Colson was that the government is a byproduct of the people. I think we are seeing this now where secular-progressive George Soros backed candidates (and the likes) continue to get elected into government seats by the people. This is a major indicator. If you do not like what you see in your government, the first thing we need to do is look within.
By going inward, we can as individuals do the work that is necessary to make ourselves better. As we do, we become an agent for change to make the world a better place for all.
So, check out Mike’s podcast and let me and others know what you think after a few listens by leaving a comment below. Godspeed.

The concept of being "God-fearing" refers to having a sense of awe or reverence toward God, and involves a deep respect for God's power, authority, and holiness. It is rooted in the belief that God is the ultimate judge and ruler of the universe, and that human beings are accountable to God for their actions and choices. Being God-fearing encompasses a range of attitudes and behaviors, including humility, obedience to God's commandments, and a desire to please God. For many people, being God-fearing is an important part of their faith and spiritual practice, and can be a source of comfort, guidance, and motivation to live a virtuous life.
